The Daily Tar Heel :: Sixty families lose their homes under new housing policies

Why not multiple zoned areas with more compact, less expensive housing for people unable to afford higher prices? Ok, some could disparage the idea as creating "servants' quarters", but if done well, this should not at all be the case.
