Compare These Gun Death Rates: The U.S. Is in a Different World - The New York Times

Why don't all of the elected officials within Chapelboroham simply announce a policy that we have too many guns and Chapelboroham will take the lead in attempting to reduce the guns in our community, starting with a gun census followed by annual reduction targets?

North Carolina and Mississippi See Tourist Backlash After L.G.B.T. Laws - The New York Times

I never thought I would ever say this, but why don't we just follow Donald TRUMP's advice and let people decide which restroom they use based on their own choice of sexual preference?

Addresses of Town Council and Mayor - Chapel Hill

Why are these not posted on the website? Excessive concern with privacy? Any real fears? Why shouldn't we know exactly where the people elected to lead the Town actually live. You see the world from where you live more than from any other place.

Understanding Measurements & Room Counts | National Appraiser Roster

I still have a problem with the way our house is measured for tax purposes. Seems to me that we ought not be taxed for more than the habitable interior square footage - i.e., the space we can use, as opposed to walls, garages, etc.

City by City, Measuring the Recovery - The New York Times

Town of Chapel Hill, NC : News Releases : Colorful Crosswalks Coming to Chapel Hill

We need to do a lot more than this. There ought to be pedestrian highways throughout the Town that are full stop crossings for motorists. Why shouldn't the presumption be reversed? If you are in a car, you stop. If you are walking, you have the right of way if on any marked crosswalk of any kind? Cars and drivers need to be trained to sense and stop when a pedestrian is about to cross.

The Daily Tar Heel :: Durham bus service to be extended into Carrboro

Good news!

Fitness paths?

Wouldn't it be wonderful for clubs like O2 to construct "fitness paths" to and from their establishments, with town and landowner permission of course? I could imagine a trail at the O2 in Chatham County that could lead directly to or from Burger King, McDonald's, Lowes Foods, etc.

Health clubs, etc

Does someone inspect them for cleanliness? Are "clean" towels subjected to a lab test to determine just how clean they may be? Is equipment inspected to see what bacteria, etc. may be on them, especially the parts touched by hands or other body parts?

Mayor HEMMINGER

Why doesn't she start providing us with a minimum one paragraph rationale for each official decision she makes as Mayor - i.e., each Council vote? If she devotes time to reaching a decision on her vote, surely she can write a few sentences so that we, too, know why.
